Finance-related searches typically follow a standard pattern that we see in business web traffic: higher during the work-week, and lower on weekends.
But this is a special week, isn’t it? Apparently not. Searches for financial terms are higher than normal, sure, but they settled down to nearly normal levels over the weekend:

Google Trends: wall street, economy, stock market, fed, interest rates
Wondering what searches replaced the financial apocalypse over the weekend? I’m seeing bunch of decidedly retro entertainment searches, mostly related to the Emmys:
- betty white
- don rickles
- mary tyler moore
A little break from economic anxiety each week has got to be good! But good lord, people, did you have to resort to 1970′s TV sitcoms?
