It’s been a while since I’ve looked a head-to-head matchup of Google search popularity between our recent presidential contenders. Here is the Google Trends chart comparing searches for “barack obama” and “sarah palin”:

Post-Election: Searches for Barack Obama vs. Sarah Palin
Ever since Governor Palin was chosen as McCain’s vice president, her Google search popularity has been phenomenal – outstripping even Obama for most of October. But around Oct. 27th the lines cross, and Obama searches started to be more popular than Palin. That big peak labeled “B” is, of course, the historic night of Obama’s election.
Oddly, the city with the most “Sarah Palin” searches is Portland, Oregon, while the epicenter of “Barack Obama” and “John McCain” searching is Miami, Florida
