Google Searches for Political Video: “obama video”, “mccain video”, “palin video”

Today I was wondering how often people search for politically-themed videos. Here are the Google search trends for video-related terms: “obama video”, “mccain video,” “palin video,” and “biden video:”

Google Trends: obama video, mccain video, palin video, and biden video

I was surprised to see that Palin’s chart didn’t blow the rest of them out of the water. However, Obama hasn’t had a spike since Aug. 29th.

Today, Neilson released data about video views on Obama & McCain’s websites. According to this analysis, a majority of McCain’s video viewers in August were women: 58% as compared to 37% in July. The top featured video on the site compares Palin to Obama with the words:

The [wall street] Journal says Governor Palin’s credentials as an agent of reform exceed Barack Obama’s… they’re right.

She has a record of bipartison reform… he is the senate’s “most liberal”

she has earned a reputation as a reformer… his reputation? Empty words.

I guess it’s no secret that the McCain campaign wants to make the contest between Obama & Palin and leave McCain out of the fray. The top video on McCain’s YouTube channel, however, is still the “Celeb” one that featured Paris and Britney. With over 2 million views!
