Google Search Trends: hope vs. fear
It looks like Barack Obama jumped on the wrong right bandwagon. “Hope” “Fear” seems to have had its peak in late 2005, and has been in decline ever since – while “fear” “hope” is is holding steady. Be sure to take note of the gradual, inexorable rise in news volume for the word “fear.” “hope!”

Shouldn’t it be Fear peaked in 2005, but “hope” holding steady?
Um isn’t the blue line home and the red line fear? That means HOPE is holding steady and the FEAR spike is over…
Umm… guys, I think you have it reversed. The blue line is hope and it was fear that peaked in 2005 while hope is holding steady!!

You have read the labels wrong (or you’re colorblind). Switch “hope” with “fear” everywhere in your analysis to be correct. Hey, now it looks like Obama’s got the right idea!
I think you got this one backwards; hope has held steady and fear is on the decline. Nice site, by the way.
