The 3rd debate didn’t seem to create much of a blip in Google search. “joe the plumber” seems to be ready to fade from the public consciousness. And with doom in the economy, our minds are turned to entertainment. It’s not enough for politicians to solve our financial problems, they must also MAKE US LAUGH!
Today’s searches include the following:
- mccain obama roast
- mccain on letterman
- alfred e. smith memorial foundation dinner (the location of the roast)
- obama cartoon
- presidential roast
And of course:
- national cupcake day
Because sometimes, you just gotta get your yummy on.
I admit, there are also some more serious searches today, like these:
- “colin powell endorses obama” — I’ve been noticing this search for the last few days, even though to my knowledge this hasn’t actually happened. Rumors abound?
- “washington post endorses obama” — this one is real, here is the endorsement
- “stop obama constitutional crisis” — my favorite search today, this one refers to a petition going around, claiming that Obama doesn’t actually qualify to be president. Here’s a quote:
A lawsuit has been filed with the Pennsylvania Eastern District Court requiring Mr. Obama to produce documents to prove he is constitutionally qualified to run for President. So far Mr. Obama has refused to produce the documents and is trying to fight the court order to produce the documents. Any American should be able to prove citizenship in less than a day. Why can’t Mr. Obama?
…A constitutional crisis will rip our country apart. If this is not cleared up now we will have a crisis. If you care at all about America you must call for Mr. Obama to produce the documents and prove that he is eligible to be President.
Am I the only one thinking a much more likely constitutional crisis will be not knowing who is really elected on election day?

RE: McCain On Letterman:
Letterman at his very best!!! Especially in the 2nd half of the McCain interview! Good to see that both -at least somewhat- kept their sense of humor in all of this though
