Election-Trends: The Google Search Pollster

A little back, I wrote a post noticing that there are a lot of Google searches for “is Geithner Jewish?” and similar questions.  Far be it from me to understand the workings of the Googlecosm, but I surmised that some of the people performing this search are anti-semitic or in some way looking for “evidence” [...]

I really thought that searches like “obama muslim” and “obama socialist” would have suffered a sharp decline after election day. And indeed, they dropped, but only down from a strong peak on that day:
It’s hard to imagine these searches going on for long, after there’s no more fuel being added to the fire. [...]

This is something I’ve seen here and there throughout the last several months: various searches such as “obama birth certificate” and “constitutional crisis,” all relating to the rumor (allegation?) that Barack Obama wasn’t actually born in the US and as such, is not qualified to serve as president.
